We are a small NGO with an international network of associates and colleagues plus a number of close collaborators and advisors, cultivated over the course of more than forty years of consistent work by our founder, Richard Register. Building on our backgrounds, abilities and experiences, Ecocity Builders is able to influence and participate in a wide variety of conversations and projects related to the ecocity approach worldwide. We promote our vision through our educational materials, consulting, conferences (both local and international) and through hands-on projects and initiatives. We have successfully initiated local on-the-ground breakthrough projects including "slow streets", creek daylighting, human scale infill development design, sustainable neighborhood development masterplans, and urban agriculture projects. Internationally, we are the keepers of the longest running conference series on the subject of ecocities. We are often consultants to grassroots community groups, campuses, local governments, developers and regional agencies. Through our educational materials, newsletters, activist mailers, and conferences we promote and help create the built human habitat in balance with living systems. Through hands-on projects in our community, we build pieces of the real thing.

Website: http://www.ecocitybuilders.org
